How to use these symbols

These are symbols that are hard to type on a phone or PC keyboard, grouped by type. Tap one to copy it, then paste it into a chat, bio, blog or username field. To use several together, tap them in order and press “Copy all” in the composer.

Every symbol here is a Unicode character, so most apps show it. If the reader’s device has no font for a symbol it may appear as a box (□), and a few symbols like ❤ ☀ may turn into color emoji on phones.

Frequently asked questions

How do I type special symbols?

Tap a symbol on this page to copy it, then paste it with a long press or Ctrl+V (⌘+V on a Mac). On Windows you can also open the emoji and symbol panel with Win+. (period).

A symbol shows up as a box. Why?

The reader’s device has no font for that symbol. Older symbols like ♡ ☆ → are supported almost everywhere, so use them where it matters.

Can I copy several symbols at once?

Each symbol you tap is added to the composer. Type anything in between and press “Copy all” to copy the whole line.

Can I use these in game usernames?

Most modern games and social apps accept Unicode symbols, but some limit the characters you can use. Test the name in the app before you settle on it.
