Setting a Halloween mood with text art
Halloween on October 31 calls for jack-o’-lanterns, ghosts, bats, and witch hats. Put a pumpkin or the haunted house at the top of a party announcement in a group chat or on Discord and the mood is set. For short messages, a one-line ghost such as 〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜 fits nicely.
Most pieces on this page were drawn for lab.ascii using keyboard characters only, so they stay aligned in most monospaced fonts. In narrow chat windows, pick a small piece such as the ghost, the spider, or the candy, or save a PNG and send the image.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use these on a party invitation?
Paste a jack-o’-lantern or the haunted house above your invitation text. If you will print it or send it as an image, save a PNG so the lines cannot shift.
Is there a pumpkin emoji?
This collection contains text art made from keyboard characters and symbols only. Emoji look different on every device, so add them to your message separately if you want them.
Does it work in Instagram stories?
The story text tool does not use a monospaced font, so multi-line art may shift. Saving a PNG and posting the image looks cleanest.
