About the Big font
Glenn Chappell scaled Standard up into Big in 1993. It grows to six lines with roomier spacing, so the same word looks larger and heavier. Bruce Jakeway added its Greek letters.
Each letter averages more than seven columns, so it suits words of two to six letters rather than long phrases. The Doom font from 1996 is based on Big.
Works well for
Large titles at the top of announcements or posts, and banners that highlight a single short word.
