About the Small font
Glenn Chappell made Small in 1993 by scaling Standard down. It is four lines tall and “HELLO” takes 25 columns, a good balance for short words.
Its strokes resemble Standard, so it stays easy to read, and its short lines rarely wrap on phones. For a long project name in a README, Small often fits within 80 columns where Standard does not.
Works well for
Phone chats, READMEs with long names, and narrow terminal windows.

Frequently asked questions
How tall is the Small font?
Banners in Small are 4 lines tall. “HELLO” comes out 25 columns wide, and each letter takes about 5.3 columns on average. It is narrow enough for phone chats.
Does Small support Korean?
FIGlet fonts have no Korean letters, so Small cannot draw Hangul. Use the Korean ASCII art tool for Korean text.
Where does a Small banner stay aligned?
Anywhere that shows text in a monospaced font. On Discord and GitHub, wrap it in a ``` code block; in chat apps with proportional fonts, save a PNG and send the image.
Can I use Small banners commercially?
Small ships with the official FIGlet distribution under the BSD-3-Clause license. Rights to the words in your banner, such as company names or trademarks, still need to be checked separately.
